How much does a flight test or certification project cost and how long does it take?
It really depends upon the scope of the project. Certifying new brakes on an airplane is a much smaller project than installing and certifying a new engine and propeller. Call us and we can estimate the time and cost of your project.
Are you an ODA (Organization with Delegation Authority)?
An ODA brings with it a fair bit of overhead and a loss of flexibility. We are better able to serve our clients by customizing their project and keeping their costs down. For those who need an ODA, that is okay. We cannot be all things to all clients. But if you want someone to tailor the work to you, or your project doesn’t fit an established mold, then we’re going to out-perform an ODA.
We have an open project with the FAA but we need one more DER. Can you help?
Of course. Contact us and we’ll see if we have an available DER with the authority you need.
What geographic areas do you serve?
Our DERs are authorized to support projects anywhere in the world. [Projects outside the US or its territories require a little extra coordination with the FAA.] The majority of our projects are based in the US and we regularly operate throughout the US without restriction. We have ongoing projects in each of the FAA’s regional Certification Offices. Our headquarters are in Dayton, OH, but our DERs live throughout the US, allowing us to support most of our clients regionally if not locally.
Is flight testing dangerous?
The risk level varies depending on the test. That’s why it is important to use experienced test pilots and test engineers. Through their training and experience, they know how to minimize and mitigate inherent risks.
Can I join your team?
We are always looking for intelligent people who will enhance our team. We look for people of high integrity, solid work ethic, a can-do attitude, a passion for aviation, and an insatiable curiosity. Reach out to us through the contact page and we’ll be in touch.
